We are looking for ways to protect the environment. That is why we decided to sew scrunchies from fabric scraps, which we will tell you more about in today's article. Scrunchies will hold your ponytail and bun in place. You can choose from six colors and two types of scrunchies (for fine and thick hair).
One of our values is that Mioora underwear is made in accordance with sustainability. You already know that we sew from fabrics sourced from a Czech manufacturer and locally—in a small workshop in the Beskydy Mountains. Our seamstresses use materials as efficiently as possible, but there are still fabric scraps left over when sewing panties. We thought about how to use them, because it's a shame to throw fabric away. And then we figured it out.
Let's be honest, what woman has enough hair ties? They often mysteriously disappear from our drawers and handbags. That's why we decided to sew fabric hair ties, or scrunchies. A quality hair tie is useful for all of us and also makes a nice little gift for a friend, mom, daughter, or grandmother.
We make our elastic bands from fabric scraps, so they are available in the same colors as our panties – black, white, blue, and nude. Each one is unique! Fabric scraps vary in width and length; some hair ties require only one large scrap, while others are made by connecting several smaller pieces. We thread elastic (rubber bands) inside to keep your hairstyle in place.
For fun, we calculated how much waste we can reduce by sewing hair ties. Take a look at the comparison. The first pile shows the scraps left over after sewing panties. When we make hair ties out of them, there is much less waste, as you can see in the second pile. We can make approximately 40 hair ties from the amount of scraps shown in the picture.

The goal is not to make a profit, which is why we offer the elastic bands at almost the cost price. We are happy that thanks to them, we can reduce material waste to a minimum. Are you interested in our new product? Support this idea with us and get a fabric elastic band.
